We were invited by Bridport Town Council to overhaul the official tourism website for Bridport and West Bay. Passionate about the project, we set about creating a website that would serve as the best possible advertising tool for the area.
Working with an existing print style, with set fonts, bold colours and imagery, we injected large images and video into the mix, producing mockups for an eye-catching and highly interactive website. The news section, events page and business and organisation directory mean that the website is now a hub for information about the area.
Training sessions have been conducted with key members of staff and the site is now being updated by the Town Council, with Watershed on hand to provide any necessary technical support. The team were delighted with the new website and have received great feedback about it from businesses, locals and tourists.
This website is wholly managed by the Tourist Information Centre staff, with Watershed providing a low-level maintenance package for technical support queries. The website has expanded over the years to include events, business listings and an e-commerce system selling tickets for local events. The TIC has now become the town’s ‘box office’, particularly because of the success of the online system on this site.
